One thing that happens to many women in a relationship with a guy is finding out that the boyfriend needs some time or space now. Sometimes this happens fairly suddenly when she doesn't expect it causing her to feel a bit devastated since things seemed to be going pretty well. Learn what your boyfriend might mean when saying something like this to you.
He might just need time and space so he can literally work some things out in his life that has nothing to do with you. He might be busy with work or school and just needs a bit of time to get all of it sorted out so everything is better.
It's possible that he does have some things to work out with the relationship as well. This isn't always a bad thing. He might be considering how close the two of you are getting. This means he might be thinking of a deeper commitment or whether to keep things more casual. Only time will tell. It's not worth worrying about as there is nothing you can do.
Your boyfriend might just be tired of the same fights and the same arguments. He might feel that some time will help these issues improve versus talking about the same things day after day. He might just be tired of going through it all and just wants to pause a moment and be alone.
Sometimes guys can feel smothered. At times this is a bit excuse but at other times he doesn't feel as free as he used to. Taking some time will help him feel that freedom again and become more of himself.
It's possible that he did do something wrong and does feel guilty about it. Being away from the relationship makes him feel less guilty because he isn't reminded of it all.
Realistically there isn't much you can do about this. It isn't worth worrying about. Be patient and he will come back.

Sometimes it can boil down to him feeling overwhelmed financially because of added expenditures. Are you spending too much on things you could do without? Perhaps you could cut down on some spending habits if that is the case. Often times women do not realize that our tastes and lifestyle is expensive.
In many cases, you may need some time alone as well to sort out your thoughts and feelings. No one is saying that if you do this things will get worse. Because in reality, things often get better after each person in the relationship has had time to cool off, think their issues through, and then come back much more fresh and ready to receive and reciprocate love and affection.
